FAQs
How am I helping by donating my homepage?
In the internet world the homepage is the most sought after piece of real estate. Every website wants to be your homepage. Currently, many people have their homepage set to either AOL, Google, MSN, or Yahoo. By donating your homepage to HelpStopChildSlavery.org, we are able to charge advertisers. Think of it as driving by a billboard on the internet highway every time you log on. The more traffic, the more we can charge advertisers, and the more money is raised to stop child slavery. Ultimately, you make it happen by giving up a few seconds to view an ad.
What organizations will receive the money?
We support antislavery organizations who rescue enslaved children, provide aftercare for them, and prosecute the criminals involved. A complete list and description of the non-profit organizations that will receive money can be found on the Antislavery Organizations page.
How does a 5 year old end up in a brothel?
Children as young as 5 are abducted and forced to work in brothels. However, most children in brothels are sold into sexual slavery by parents who struggle to feed their families.
Is there anything else I can do?
There are a number of websites that sell products made by survivors of slavery. The money generated
by these sites goes to fight slavery. You can find them at Shop to Fight Slavery.
We also hope to inspire people to come up with creative ideas to raise awareness, funds, or the resources necessary to help those in need.
Programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-A-Wish Foundation and others were started by individuals just like you who discovered creative ways to help others.
